See answer: Testicular torsion related to twisting of the spermatic cord is usually a very acute condition associated with fairly sudden onset of significant testicular pain and swelling often associated with abdominal discomfort, nausea, and affected testicle riding higher in scrotum. Most commonly occurs ages 12-16 and less likely as one ages. A doppler ultrasound is the imaging test of choice.
