Biopsy.: There are many doctors who deal with temporal arteritis including internists, family practitioners, vascular surgeons, neurologists and neurosurgeons. The diagnosis is usually made on the basis of symptoms, see rate and biopsy of the temporal artery.

Temporal arteritis: either an ophthalmologist, neurologist, primary care physician. Often they will ask a surgeon to do a temporal artery biopsy, but if the diagnosis is highly suspicious then steroids treatment would be recommended.
