Bipolar vs temper: This can be challenging in some cases, but bipolar disorder is generally much more intense and pervasive. Bipolar disorder is a formal mood disorder that manifests in both mania (increased energy, less need for sleep, grandiosity, and can include psychosis and hallucinations) and depression. For best help with this, be evaluated by a psychiatrist or psychologist.

Simply: One is an emotion and the other is a medical condition characterized by disturbances in mood and associated symptoms. Not all anger is bipolar.
