No, but: You cannot have scarletina (strep rash) without having a strep infection somewhere. It could be throat, ear, skin, joint, blood...- does not have to be strep throat. Many rashes mimic strep rash, though, so need to make sure provider is 100% confident it is a strep rash and not some other dermatitis or viral exanthema causing or closely mimicking the strep rash.
