Dangerous condition: The body generates energy by breaking down fat and sugar thru a very efficient mechanism that uses oxygen and produces carbon dioxide and water. When this mechanism fails, there is another inefficient back up system that generates lactic acid. Poor blood flow, low oxygen, medications, poisons, excessive exercise can cause this lactic acidosis. It should be corrected promptly.
