Ye sit is true: Only long standing chronic inflammation is a risk factor for gastric cancer. Most non h.Pylori gastritis is acute and heals within a short period of time after the offending agent has been removed/ eliminated.

Atrophic gastritis: If it is an atrophic type of chronic gastritis, it has a tendency to evolve into gastric cancer.
