Exercise and diet: High protein diets with moderate amounts of low glycemic carbohydrates and low amounts of high quality fats are the key to keeping body fat low. In addition, muscles must be hungry to replenish glycogen reserves which means doing weight lifting (squats, calf raises) so carbs are stored in muscle instead of fat. Finally, aerobic exercise (biking, running, swimming) burns fatty acids from diet.
