How can i ease the pain and swelling from genital herpes? i've been on several antibiotics but still having frequent reoccurrences, worse than before

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See answer : Antivirals, not antibiotics, are used for treating herpes infections. If you are having frequent episodes of symptomatic, bothersome genital herpes (>2 a year), you should consider daily suppressive therapy (acyclovir, valacyclovir, or famciclovir) which has been shown to reduce outbreaks by 80-85%. Usually, stay on for 9 months to 2 years, and then stop and convert back to episodic treatment.
