?seeing nephrologist: With poor kidney function such as your mother apparently has, you need to assure she is seeing a nephrologist (kidney specialist). You certainly need to be comfortable with her dr. So do not be afraid to ask any questions. At times, serial testing of renal function, once properly diagnosed with a specific kidney disease, may be the process needed before eventually dialysis may be needed, etc.
