A member asked:

Should i worry about taking aspirin protect 100 mg (for feeling tight in the chest)while i was having a cold and low grade fever.can i get reye's synd?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Reyes syndrome: Reye's syndrome tends to appear with greatest frequency during january, february, and march when influenza is most common. Cases are reported in every month of the year. An epidemic of flu or chicken pox is commonly followed by an increase in the number of cases of reye's syndrome (which can occur without Aspirin ingestion). Tightness of chest is not a specific symptom of reyes.
