At some point: It takes about 10 minutes after the laughing gas is removed before the effects have dissipated enough so you can leave the office and drive. I usually stop administering the nitrous oxide and flush with oxygen enough before the procedure is over to ensure that the patient has his\her full capacities before getting out of my chair, let alone the office. I cannot vouch for what others do.

Yes, but...: It takes 20-30 minutes to blow off the effects of the nitrous oxide. Plan on spending some time at the Dentist's office after the procedure for safety's sake.
