No: Laughing gas only helps relax you. It will not deaden the pain during an extraction. A local anesthetic is best to deaden the pain of wisdom tooth extraction.

Gas or no..: Laughing gas won't affect pain when having wisdom teeth out. Local anesthetic will numb any sharp pain, but you will still feel pressure which can be uncomfortable, but tolerable. If you are worried, you may want to see an oral surgeon or dentist who can treat you with I.V. Sedation where you basically go to sleep and when you wake up it's all over.

Not painful: You will be numb. Gas just takes the edge off. You will still feel pressure if you have gas or not. If you feel pain, you need more novocaine. If anxiety is an issue, your dentist can prescribe a pill to take the edge off. But you will need a ride from the office following the extraction.
