Ankle pain: It is not normal to continue to have ankle pain, difficulty walking, and redness around the surgical site 20 months after the surgery. You should visit your primary care physician for an examination, please do not ignore this. Good luck.

Infection or nonunio: Redness and swelling that far out are concerning for chronic infection or incomplete healing of the fusion (nonunion). You need followup with labs, imaging and possibly a bone biopsy. Get this checked out!
