Blood clot in brain: Thrombosis in the brain circulation can occur in the arteries as well as veins. Hypertension usually causes bleeding within the brain with resultant stroke. Cerebral thrombosis on the arterial side can be seen with arteriosclerosis where narrowing of the vessel ends up with sluggish flow, then clotting. Thrombosis of veins draining the brain presents with headaches, seizures, weakness.
