Need evaluation: Intermittent dyspnea could be from asthma, copd, symptomatic hypothyroidism and heart conditions. Depending on further history and examination spirometer and echocardiogram may be helpful if etiology is not apparent on examination.

Dyspnea: Do you feel short of breath only with exertion? If so pulmonary function tests should be done. If your shortness of breath is only at rest, tension or anxiety may be the cause.
