Blood smears: Have your pediatrician check for an anal fissure especially if you child has been constipated.

Anal fissure: Is the most common cause of bright red blood on the toilet paper from hard or large stools. Recurrent painless rectal bleeding needs to be evaluated- usually from a polyp.
