A member asked:

How long does it take for igg herpes antibodies to show up? what's the most recent your exposure could have been if you test with low amounts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Herpes simplex: Generally 2-4 weeks is the time necessary for antibody formation, but this may be igm antibody, followed by conversion to igg in about 6-8 weeks, but this is highly variable from person to person. There are some false-negative results as well.
