I was put on a drug called solian 5 years ago and gained 100sounds. whenever i try to stop it the depression is unbearable .

Suggest Abilify (aripiprazole): An alternative to solian (amisulpride) that might be much less likely to cause weight gain and also help with your depression is Abilify (aripiprazole). I suggest you talk with your provider about making the change.

Medication choices: That is a really concerning weight gain. If you have depression as your main diagnosis- would encourage use of SSRI's rather than antipsychotic meds. If there is a reason for antipsychotics, some studies have shown Ziprasidone (Geodon) to have less weight gain on average than other antipsychotic medications.
