How long??: If your cough lasts for 3 weeks or longer, see your doctor. Possible etiologies of chronic cough include bronchospasm from any etiology, post-nasal drip, gerd, or a combination of these factors. These all have different treatments so you need to see your doctor to first diagnose the etiology of your cough and then prescribe treatment.
