A member asked:

My crp in may was 5 mg/dl ( normal is 0-0, 5) . i'm healthy. my doctor says that the value was high because i'm obese: is it true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lab values: The CRP is a non-specific measure of inflammation, and knowing the actual test result has no meaning without having some clinical context in which to fit the value. A level of 5mg/dl is elevated above what is considered normal, but is minimally elevated and without symptoms would simply ignore the results.
