Dr. William Trattler answered

Specializes in LASIK Surgery

Epi-LASIK (or PRK): Epi-lasik is a form of advanced surface ablation. Prk is another form of surface ablation. These are procedures that provide similar results to lasik, except that the procedure is performed on the surface of the cornea rather than under a lasik flap. Epi-lasik is performed with a mechanical device that slides the epithelium off. The procedure is effective.
