Botox cerebral palsy: Botox is becoming more commonly used in cerebral palsy. It has proven helpful in treating muscle spasms and tight joints. But remember it is a treatment not a cure.
Dr. Glenn Messina
Aesthetic Medicine 35 years experience
The botox for spasticity will case the muscle that is contracting to become weak maybe even flaccid. Botox does work in this situation however the doses are higher than for cosmetic botox and there are more serious side effects such as weakness in muscles elsewhere in the body occasional swallowing difficulties. Its is important to discuss all the risk and benefit with your doctor
