A member asked:

How can a eye doctor test for double visions?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Several types: The most common doubling of vision is when the eyes are out of alignment from defects in the nerves to the eye muscles or changes in the socket like trauma and tumors. Testing these is obvious by covering one eye and seeing if the doubling ends. Refinements of this can determine the muscles involved. Less common is doubling in one eye from defects in the lens or retina.
