A member asked:

Please let me know if there is pain in having the stroke, like there is with a heart attack?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually none: Most strokes are pain free, except if it involves a pain center or it causes high pressure in the brain due to swelling or bleeding. It usually causes nonfunctioning of involved areas such as vision, hearing, speech, sensation or movement, but can involve areas that control vital organs such as breathing.
