Stay away: The only treatment for poison ivy rash is steroids - topical (creams) if mild, and oral (pills) if severe and/or widespread. If you come in contact with poison ivy, wash the area with soap, and see your doctor for treatment as soon as the rash starts. Severe reactivity to poison ivy doesn't really fade much; don't wait "to see how bad it gets." prompt treatment will minimize it's spread.
