Any ideas why a persons sight become more focused when you squint?

Pinhole effect: When someone needs glasses, the light must be bent, or refracted, to focus properly. The light that enters the eye through the center does not need to be bent in order to see. By placing a pinhole in front of the eye or squinting, this center light is now available, and voila, vision is better.
