Infection: If I understand the question correctly, then yes, without antibiotics the body can have substantial symptoms while it tries to fight the infection on its own. Exhaustion can be one, as can death, if the infection is bad enough. Appropriate intervention with antibiotics is indicated for most bacterial infections.
