It depends: It really depends on how the tooth is positioned in your jaw and what it will take to remove it. Usually you need to have the gum surrounding the tooth lifted up, some bone removed and the tooth cut into pieces to remove it with minimal trauma to you. After the procedure you will have some pain and swelling but this is usually managed easily with some prescription pain medication.
