HPV not pinworm: Pinworm infestation can lead to complications, and they are often symptomatic, usually with anal itching, as they emerge at night. However, cervical cancer is more likely to arise following infection by high risk subtypes of a virus called human papilloma virus (hpv), and this can be detected during routine pap smear.
