A member asked:

For how long does acute kidney failure last?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Acute renal failure: Most patients with acute renal failure (a) start to recover their renal function in less than 3 weeks. Some, and older, patients can take longer to recover their renal function, up to 3-4 months. If the renal failure is not resolved in 3 weeks, ask the nephrologist involved in the patient's care for a better answer to your question. Good luck.
