Back pain: Muscular strain, ligament tear, tear of the disc, a central disc herniation, or a stress fracture can cause this kind of pain. Try anti-inflammatory medications, ice and a simple low profile back brace for a few days. If the pain persists then see a spine specialist.

Back pain: This is consistent with a compressed disc and muscle spasm. Sacro-iliac inflammation will present these symptoms also. I recommend careful stretching and application of ice packs.
