A high eye pressure: Does not prevent you from having lasik. It means that you need to be watched for glaucoma. If your optic nerves are very cupped, then you may not be a great candidate for having the procedure. There are so many variables other than pressure that are important. Best to ask one or two lasik doctors.

Eye pressure & Lasik: Usually pressures over 19 could be considered ''elevated'' and we try to control that pressure. As a Lasik specialist, I usually control any other eye problems before we discuss letting the patient get this elective treatment; Custom, High-Definition Lasik. While Lasik is simple & safe & successful, the measurement of the eye pressures can be less precise after Lasik and we try to treat that 1st.
