Not the answer: Hydrocodone may take the edge off pain but it will not cure the disease. You will become tolerant over time and the hydrocodone will be less effective. There is a chance that long term pain medication will actually make your pain worse. Medication for the nerve sensitivity (lyrica (pregabalin) or cymbalta), combined with non impact aerobic exercise, good sleep, hydration, and stress management is the key.
