Can you tell me about hydrocodone dependence and long term use?

Too broad a ?: Hydrocodone, found in Vicodin and other meds, will produce the same kind of dependency as any opioid. However, since it is combined with tylenol, (acetaminophen) the usual maximal dose is about 8 pills a day, which results in a relatively moderate physical dependency. It does need to be tapered after long-term use, because sudden cessation will produce opioid withdrawal symptoms. Side effects- edema,constipation
