Paregoric: Paregoric and Laudanum are two different drugs. They are still manufactured and are available in the US. Paregoric is a tincture of opium but the exact formulation varies somewhat. Keep in mind that Laudanum, while also a tincture of opium is a considerably more powerful mixture. Confusion about this has led to some deaths.
