If you are having: Bilateral paralysis with back pain, you may have a spinal cord injury and you need to be taken to the er now. That being said, if you have injured your spinal cord, you should notice other issues other than paralysis below the knees, including bowel and bladder issues, weakness or issues above the knees as well. Either way, acute bilat paralysis with new onset back pain=er.
