Where can I find advice on a fractured arm?

Get MRI: This is your opinion or your pcp opinion?I would see an orthopedic surgeon w/ arthroscopy fellowship training or foot/ ankle fellowship training.( or podiatrist). A history , physical exam and x-rays would be performed... If this has already been done get a good- quality MRI scan and a talar dome fracture should be easily seen if present. Treatment if present can then begin. Gl!

Pain/swelling/others: A colle's fracure is an acute fracture of the wrist end of the forearm bones. The larger radius is usually knocked off the end of the shaft and the smaller ulnar bone is fractured. You usually do this by falling on the outstretched hand. Immediately you will have deformity, swelling, pain, perhaps numbness and will not want to use it. It is a serious fracture and should be seen immediately.

Dorsiflexion is bending your wrist so the the top of your hand move towards your elbow. Possibly protecting yourself from a blow could cause this. I don't believe somebody could do it to you by twisting your wrist.

"Acute" = New/recent: "acute" just means that whatever it is is new. So "acute fracture" means the bone is recently broken. Usually we can see signs of healing on an x-ray as time goes on. If healing signs are seen, you would not call the fracture "acute".
