Does malaria commonly occur in the us?

No: Before ddt spraying began mosquito abatement, it was common in much of the usa, but nowadays transmission by mosquito is extremely rare. People bring malaria in the us form overseas. This may change as climate changes.

No: Malaria is almost never transmitted in the 50 us states. Last year there were some cases transmitted in key west florida but this is very unusual. Almost all cases of malaria seen in the us were acquired in foreign countries.
