A member asked:

What is having blood in front of the macula?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood centrally: The macular area is the central vision portion of the retina which contains the fovea and allows for the finest detailed vision. If vessels in this area malfunction (e.g. In diabetes) then b leeding can occur and the vision will drop. There is currently treatment for this so it should be evaluated quickly by an ophthalmologist.
