A member asked:

Do you know are between the roles of the fovea and that of the macula?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Subset: These are two overlapping anatomical regions of the retina. The macula is the whole portion of the retina containing the fine detailed receptive cells and is surrounded by a net of capillary vessels. The fovea is in the very center and is the site of the finest detailed vision. It is avascular and has no interior blood vessels.
