SmartLipo is Laser : Smartlipo is a laser-assisted fat removal and skin tightening. Laser is used internally through punctures wounds and a fiberoptic wand is passed into the fat areas where the light can dissolve and melt the fat. Melted fat is then suctioned out and a different laser can help tighten the skin from underneath.

It has been around long enough that if there was any benefit, it should be clear by now. Unfortunately, it is not magic. Despite the marketing, it has not been shown to provide any benefits over normal tumescent liposuction, and does introduce some new problems, like burns.
