A member asked:

Please explain why sgpt and sgot are elevated in choleithiasis ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually they are not: Usually the presence of gallstones in the gallbladder does not cause elevations of SGOT / sgpt, as they are not injuring the liver cells.
