TIA and Stroke: Tia symptoms can be like stroke causing facial droop, weakness or numbness on one side of the body, balance problem and others. These symptoms should lead to a call to 911. If the symptoms go away within 24 hrs and MRI scan of brain is normal then it is TIA otherwise a stroke. A present TIA is a warning for future strokes.
