Choledocholithiasis: This is an urgent medical problem that should be addressed immediately. Failure to get treatment can lead to severe infection and liver dysfunction. Delaying treatment can make treatment more complicated and difficult. Treatment consist of removal of the stones endoscopically or surgically. Antibiotics prevent and treat cholangitis or infection of the bile ducts that can be life threatening.
