A member asked:

Please help! what is the difference between a cherry angioma and petechiae?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Differences: Petechiae appear when capillaries bleed, leaking blood into the skin. These will go away when the blood resorbs. Cherry angiomas area an abnormal proliferation of blood vessel just under the skin surface. These will never go away if left alone. The blood is in your circulation.
