I take prozac (20 mg/day) and ritalin (methylphenidate) (40 mg/day). could longterm intake reduce my intelligence? i am very worried about changes in my brain chemistry

Prozac (fluoxetine) : I think the question is all things considered are these medications helping you feel more productive and better than if you were not taking them if no u might disscuss with your doctor about going off them. That said you went on them for a reason, what were those reasons? You have to weigh the positive and negative. People have a tendency to want a yes or no answer and that is not possible.

Brain changes: You would not lose intelligence from being on these medications. However, untreated depression and adhd would make it harder to perform well in school or in work.
