Herpes: There are two kinds of herpes antibodies that are tested usually in the U.S. The acute or new antibody known as igm and the remote past or 'aged' antibody igg. For igm testing two weeks is still quite early. But, six weeks would be a common place to feel more comfortable. The igg antibodies will follow after igm if there is an infection.

Herpes simplex: Yes, you can develop an antibody response within 2 wks after exposure. Most people, however, have had herpes at least orally since early in life, and the antibody response cannot reliably differentiate between types 1 ; 2. For that, isolation of the virus from the lesions and testing it appropriately is necessary.
