Unusual: Toe fractures esp phalanx fractures generally heal without much treatment in any case.I would suspect that it has some healing now.If it continues to hurt see your ors or podiatrist.

Bone or soft tissue?: If the X-ray shows a non-healing fracture or abnormal angle of the healed bone, surgery is an option. If the x-ray shows good healing then pain resolution treatments could include topical anti-inflammatory gels, with my treatment preference being cortisone injections.
