Laser treatment: In current practice, numerous lasers can specifically target pigmented lesions, including red-light lasers (eg, 694-nm ruby, 755-nm alexandrite), green-light lasers (eg, 510-nm pulsed dye, [3, 4, 5, 6] 532-nm frequency-doubled nd:yag), and near-infrared lasers (eg, 1064 nm nd:yag). The wide range of lasers that can be used to treat pigment is a result of the broad absorption spectrum of melanin.
