Do young women ever get dvt?

Dr. Ted King answered

Yes: One of the biggest risk factors for DVT in young women is taking birth control pills. Obesity, immobility, surgery, serious illness, and varicose veins can all increase the risk of dvt. There are also inherited tendencies toward increased clotting (thrombophilias). If a woman has a thrombophilia and is on the pill, her risk of getting a DVT is dramatically increased.
